Komplete 8 - 12DVDs and still 12.9 GB to down load!

Chronic G.A.S. got the better of me and I gave in to the half price Komplete 8 cross grade deal from Kontakt that ran until the end of July. Even after installing 12 DVDs it was still necessary to download 12.9 GB of updates and extras. Of course some of this was because Session Strings, Razor and the Mouth are being thrown in with Komplete until the end of September.

I am really enjoying the Scarbee Rhodes, I thought I had that department well covered but this one is really nice. The other unexpectedly good one was Abbey Road 60's Drummer (another download, the older version without the midi grooves is on the disk).

While the synths were what swung the upgrade for me, Reactor looks like a major challenge! However it looks like it has a lot of potential.

Well the half price cross grade deal is over now (was discussed here), If you want Razor, the mouth and Session Strings thrown in with Komplete that deal is still going. Of course Komplete 9 is probably just around the corner. The is usualy some ssort of crossgrade deal for Kontakt, Guitar Rig or Reaktor owners when the new Komplete is released.

yes, well NI have pretty much lost me as a customer due to their shabby way they dealt with "kore" owners...

4 weeks notice of closing it down and only giving owners 4 weeks to buy the packs for it...

I have a feeling they will be annoying more customers with their conduct, if thats a sign of things to come

ah well fabfilter and many more thank them for my new custom.. ;-)

Somehow, that's probably the best news. lol I really don't need Komplete but those sales have a way to make you buy stuff you don't need. Besides maybe Abbey Road 60s drummer (which I really don't need w/ the stuff I'm working on but would love to have at my disposal.)

Oh well, that's more money for hardware and other plug-ins. :P

I skipped on Komplete8, there was nothing in there that I did not already have in 7, except Kontakt5, to which I succumbed<G>!

Reaktor is a beast. I have been experimenting with it, on and off, for about three or four years now, and I've barely scratched the surface!!! But I love it, especially for sound design. Someday I'll even become adept...

PS - are they EVER going to fix whatever is broken for FF????

I almost bought the 7 to 8 Ultimate upgrade on the 1/2 price July 31st deadline... but at the last moment I decided that I want to move back towards real life instruments and that more Scarbee and Abbey Road drums weren't where I'm heading.

I really like the Kontakt quality and I'm glad I have it but I want less and less of the quantity.

    best regards,
    mike

I have missed the 3 week summer sale. Pity they don't email you when a sales on.

I will wait for the next one.

They e-mail me at least once a week these days - though I don't always take the time to read it.

    Junk folder maybe?

    best regards,
    mike

And yet, you have not asked me to play bass on a single collab.

You obviously do not want to sink to the very bottom of the quality scale.

    Well done.
