Komplete Ouch

Got a copy of Komplete 8 Ultimate on the USB hard drive. I was rather excited about the prospect of all the new instruments and effects. But about two hours into the install, it suddenly stopped with that "USB device disconnected" beep and some nasty-looking errors, and there was no longer any sign of the USB hard drive on my computer. The cable seemed loose, and I notice it looks like the jack completely snapped off, and is now floating around loose inside the drive housing, making the USB drive completely dead. Oh joy. I'm quite confused as to how such a thing could happen while the drive was just sitting there on my desk, untouched.

That is weird. I was surprised it took over 2 hours to install when I did it. Is inside the Komplete HD that broke, or your computer?  Because if you send it back to NI they will replace it.  They have had some issues with the HDs stop working and such.

FWIW, You could always yank the HD out of the external enclosure... connect it internally (temporarily), to get Komplete installed.  You could then contact NI about getting a replacement.

I got it from Guitar Center, and brought it into them. They didn't have one in stock, though, so now I'm waiting for the replacement to arrive in the mail.

Got my replacement drive yesterday, and everything's installed now... It all seems to be working. Now to try and figure out exactly what I have... :0!

make sure you run the standalone versions first before vst.

and YEP it's a lot of learning etc.
