Kontakt vs Trilogy for bass?

I am a guitarist and would like to get into recording. I have Sonar 5 along with a BOSS GT-8 guitar processor and BOSS DR-880 drum machine. I've recorded some things that sound good, but want to expand the drum and bass sounds. I think EZDrummer will work well for me. The question is bass. I spoke with my salesperson at a local store and he is recommending getting Kontakt 3 vs Spectrasonics Trilogy. He says Kontakt has enough bass sounds and you get all the other sounds as well.

Basically, I'm looking for something quick and easy to put together bass and drums. That's what I like about the DR-880. However, I want something more professional sounding. I do like the idea of getting additional sounds in Kontakt, but are the bass sounds adequate. In addition, I hear Kontakt is buggy.

Any advice?

My advice is to go with trilogy i am a software producer and its always better to go with the software that is specifically made for the particular instrument you are looking for in this case the bass. If you were looking for that professional sound i would suggest trilogy BUT there are 2 other bass programs that are pretty new and not very popular yet but are way better than trilogy and trust me trilogy is really good so you can imagine.

I have Scarbee's "Black Bass" for Kontakt and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Even an ex-trilogy user posted in the Scarbee forum that Black Bass is far easier to play great sounding basslines with than Trilogy. At 99 bucks, you can't beat it, and you can crossgrade to their other bass libraries for 69 bucks once you've bought it.

I bought Black Bass Amped #2 and am blown away by how well programmed it is.

BTW: I wouldn't count on any of the bass guitars included with Kontakt being nearly as good as any commercial libraries. But I'd still go for Kontakt and buy one of Scarbee's bass guitars for it. At least you have the option to buy other libraries and you get a ton of strings and other stuff that would be perfectly adequate for background tracks.
