Nice surprise, considering it's being discontinued. (There is also a recent update for Reaktor, v5.6.2).

not nice.. they royally ****ed over kore users and with short notice.. NI won't be getting any of my money for a long while as a result.. I hope more follow my way of thinking, and they'll soon realise when their sales figures are down

100% with you on this - they desperately need some lessons on looking after paying customers in my view and like you, I will only spend more money with them only if it is absolutely necessary

that's a good price , don't get me wrong.. they are innovative , I like their products.. BUT they have got lazy and taken customers (including me) for mugs.

if you own the full paid for kore and add new packs etc. they may break compatibility with it.

I know at least one person who has been banned of their forums for saying what I have in a less subsistent polite way, but the sentiment is sadly what a few feel.

Kontakt is pretty much industry standard I guess ,much like akai was back in the day.. if someone can take their crown then they might find themselves losing sales.

they stitched me up with false advertising on b4 update (acted unprofessionally about it when confronted about their "advertising" ) .. then the whole kore and then NI upgrade to komplete 8 has been a joke.. either buy a very basic pack (which I have a lot of the sound packs already) OR the crazy prices super sized ones.. which is mainly kore soundpacks recycled with komplete 8.

it's tricky with companies, YES they are a business.. but there are plenty of rivals out there that will happily take their business.

I don't blame you Fog and all the others that got dropped from NI.....I know I'd feel the same if that happened to me.
There aren't too many (if any) vendors that can truly compete with NI/Kontakt to take that crown away (I wish there was.....then we'd have different options).
I'm not sure if Komplete8 is worth the $369 upgrade or is it better to get Komplete7 for $175?

Has anyone loaded this yet? I've just read the Manual addendum and it seems to me this could be problematic as it doesn't say it works with everything. Link to the  Manual addendum below.

I'm satisfied with Komplete 7 and I have no plans to upgrade to Komplete 8, ever. The general consensus is that the upgrade doesn't offer enough new stuff to warrant the price. Eventually I will be "forced" to upgrade to Kontakt 5 if I want to stay compatible with the newest sample libraries, but I'm not buying it until I have to.
