Korg Nanopad Programming

hello,

I just received a new korg nanopad.  I have the nanokontrol and had some issues programming it.  the Nanopad works, I plugged it in and it works with Sonar 7 and Studio Instruments.  I was wondering if there is a way to program the pads to play chords, or even samples in the form of Waves.  Thanks a bunch, I looked around and couldn't find any info on this.  I know it's capable of it, but didn't know if it would be possible in Sonar.

You can use the Korg Kontrol Editor and assign up to eight notes per pad (or other control changes).  The editor is quite simple to get up and running.

I have never recorded it in Sonar but I do have a little project set up for the nanopad to drive soft synths.  This project allows me to play a bass guitar synth on one channel, a set of string chords on another channel, and a overdriven guitar synth with the same chords on yet another.  Nothing too fancy but it is fun to watch the reactions of people that haven't seen something like this before.

    Good luck.

    Thanks Keebo,

I'm still trying to use the nanopad to trigger wav samples.  is this possible with just the editor and Sonar or is there a third party product that I can do this with?

I'm not sure how you would trigger raw wav samples.  There are ways to convert samples to soundfonts and then load them in a sounfont player to be triggered via the nanopad but I have never tried it personally.  Sonar comes with several soft synths that can play soundfonts such as sfz 1 and Dim Pro.
