Korg nanoPad and nanoKontrol

Hi,

I just installed Sonar Platinum on my clean installation of Win 10.  I've also installed all of my hardware (Lexicon Lambda audio interface, various USB microphones, miniKeyStation and the Korg nanoPad and nanoKontrol).  All devices are properly listed in my device manager.  However, when I go to "Preferences" in Sonar Platinum, I do not see either device listed under Midi / Devices.  All other installed items are listed and work properly.  According the Window's device manager, these Korg items are installed properly.  They also worked in Sonar properly on my previous computer (which also ran windows 10 on it).

Any thoughts?

When I installed the Korg NanoControl I recall a bit of a hassle at getting the thing to install properly, even after I updated my computer with the latest drivers.
Saw the same stuff as you (Windows Says it's installed properly and running).
I do recall seeing something "glitchy" as I installed the drivers which harkened me back to the old days of trying to install a Printer on Win 3.1. everything installed but no worky.
    --------------
That said - after a number of installs that never seem to take, I deleted all drivers, did a Windows (Win7) restart, then followed the Korg instructions to a T...... Korg helpdesk will get back to you, but ever so slooooowly.
I wish I could have been more help!

You may have run into the limit of usb devices.
I had the same problem when I had the latest V-Control Pro installed on my system.
Removed it and then my NanoKontrol showed up.

    FWIW ~
Don't forget to put the Nano controllers into Sonar control mode -
    might make a difference.

Also, if connecting thru a USB hub, make sure it's a properly functioning powered hub ~
I've seen lots of issues with USB connectivity in the past that were ultimately attributed to poorly functioning hubs.
(Even a case or two of the device showing up in Device Manager, but not functioning properly).

Name-brand powered hubs have solved most of my connectivity issues.

Since a fresh install of Windows 10 has to build connectivity points from scratch, I have a feeling that it might actually be more particular about USB ports & devices than an 8x to 10 upgrade might have been.

And to elaborate more on gustabo's comment above -
Yeah, USB device limit and hidden "ghost" device could be contributing to the problem.

Written for Win 7, but also applicable to Win 8 and 10.

First time I uncovered the "ghost" devices in Device Manager I was amazed at how many duplicate entries I had for USB hardware such as audio interfaces, MIDI controllers, etc.! Eliminating ghost devices cured disconnect issues I was having with a couple of controllers...
