Kurzweil PC2X File Library

Can someone either tell me where I can find the Kurzweil PC2X File Library for Sonar3 and/or Finale 2004, or else tell me how to create it myself? I'm desperate!

    Are you referring to the Instrument definition file? If so (and I'm sorry this is the only answer I can provide), look on pages 521 - 534 of the Sonar manual. It walks you through how to set up an ins file. I did a quick google search for .ins, pc2 (and Kurzweil) and Cakewalk and came back with no results for the PC2x series, however there are sites out there that have ins files for other Kurzweil instruments.

    For the Sonar part, you mean the instrument definition? I just sent my current master.ins to the e-address on your website. It has the pc2x, including the Orch ROM and GM midi banks (and one or two other things. Edit to taste.) Enjoy. -Ron

    Ron,

    If you have time, I would also greatly appreciate receiving the instrument definitions for the PC2X. My wife loves the keyboard. She was sold on the piano until we got gigastudio. Still, it's great for playing out.

    Unfortuantely since I received it, I lost it due to crash and reformat before I moved it to the SONAR computer. If anyone has it, I sure would appreciate it, also.

    Thomas, if you'll post an e-address, I'll send my master.ins. It contains the PC2X banks, except for the classic keys. You can copy and paste to your own definition file.

    Ron, could I trouble you to send me your Kuzweil PC .ins file?

    I just bought a PC1X, and there is virtually no sysex info in the manual, and no support for the beast in any of the commercial editor/librarians.

    Kurzweil technical support was no help at all.

    Mike, check your inbox. I'm sending my master.ins, which has my pc2x definition in it. Copy and paste to taste.

    (I don't have a straight pc2x.ins file - never did open the cd that came with the orch rom card, where I'm told there is one. The file I'm sending you I put together by hand or by copying from here and there; can't remember.)

    Guys, reminder: I don't remember how much of the pc2x part of my master.ins I created from scratch. Also, IIRC, a few patch names may have changed (in the original banks) when the pc2(x) OS was upgraded. So some of my patch names may not match exactly what you see on the display when you call them up.
