sorry, Keni, but I thought they made it pretty clear that you're only eligible for one $10 purchase and that it's based on what you have in your purchases prior to today.. (i.e. what you already have purchased as of yesterday)

Yeah, just not your year Keni- although you are eligible for one $10 upgrade- the same as everyone else. Not their year either... It wouldn't be right for the hardcore guys (like myself!) who have bought everything at full price have some of the stragglers pay $10 for each plugin and catch up for 30 or 40 dollars. I think Cakewalk have struck the right balance in a complex situation.

Great promotion, love how the $10 price point translates through all the levels of ProC/Expanded investment. I just nabbed the expander for $10. Was it on my wish list? Nah, but it is a literal no-brainer for me.

And just to think...... Some people on these forum threads talked about me for being confused as to the versions and pluggin versions of Sonar. This is becoming a nightmare to figure out what you actually own as to what's available what to upgrade or downgrade to. Its hillarious to me.

This has brightened up my day. I have made full use of the pro channel module to date, they have all helped to improve my sound. Nice to have customer loyalty rewarded too. I'll be getting my concrete limiter as soon as I get home. Gonna throw my bass guitar through it and see what happens! I held off on the softube bundle due to price and dongle. Great work cakewalk, and I like what's coming in X1d. I really like this new cycle of updating and perfecting one version of sonar rather than relearning tons of new stuff every year - we are in a new phase for sure, but I think I like it.
Please listen to my band's new (post-prog rock?!) songs at www.reclaimmusic.com all produced using sonar X1!!

Got it! 10 bucks... no brainer! I'm glad I bought all the other stuff when it came out. Thanks Cakie... Going to re-boot. I just fired up X1E and I see everything except the limiter. I was able to download and install it adding the SN but it does not show up in the PC... I probably installed it in the wrong place, I'll figure it out. J

(i.e. what you already have purchased as of yesterday) Thanks Beagle... I know... but I was hoping they'd change their' mind(s) when they saw us so confronted.... I can't afford to buy the package of 4k-comp+limiter..... and I can't afford the limiter by itself.... I could have managed the $10, but just to get the 4k compressor which I didn't buy when it was released even tho I had the money then? ............. <sigh> I guess this just ain't my decade..... Keni

While this looks like a good deal, if I never use any mastering tools, will the upgrade be of benefit to me? I use Sonar for MIDI & audio (real & SW synthesizers), and bouncing to tracks to make my audio CD's. I use effects (reverb, delay, etc.), but never any mastering effects. thanks Keith

If you're talking about Expanded only, then I would answer your question with a 'yes', it will help you. The new effects chains modules offer a tremendous value for the recording artist. Also the softube saturation adds a nice full and rounded sound that works on a lot of material. This $10 investment puts you in a position to take advantage of the future top tier updates/upgrades. - I think it's an easy decision.

grayzer I really like this new cycle of updating and perfecting one version of sonar rather than relearning tons of new stuff every year A HUGE +1 to this. It's not even the 'relearning new stuff'. In the past, updates were basically a few bug fixes with a useless new toy thrown in. At least now it seems as if the main focus is a stable working environment and if you want the new 'toy' offering, you simply buy it. I'm definitely liking this way better. I never even bothered to install the things like the matrix view or step sequencer because I have no use of them. But bought the upgrade hoping that some other issues would have been addressed too. At least now I have the option of choosing what I want to add to my stable DAW. Michael

I downloaded X1c but never installed it. In other words I'm still running the original X! producer. If I get the expaneded version do I have to run X1c first? or does the expanded version have X1c already updated?
