LE vs Artist

I have been using SONAR LE with windows 10 (and previous windows versions) for all my compositions. If I upgrade to ARTIST will my previous project (.cwp) and bundle (.bun) files work with ARTIST? Also what new features will I gain by using ARTIST? Are there any issues using ARTIST with windows 10?
Thanks, Larry Robertson

Hi. You should be able to open all old projects in SONAR Artist. I have opened projects created in SONAR XL2.2 (32 bit) in SONAR 2016 (in my case Platinum X64, but the base program is the same) without problems, besides having to replace missing plugins (most of my old projects used dxi, and now vst2/3 x64). Here is a link to some of the features in the various versions of the new SONAR.

And there has been a lot of bug fixes as well.
    All the best.
Edit: I have been on Win 10 since August, and have not had any SONAR issues.

Hi There, Your files will open from LE.  There are a lot of advantages to getting up on the new platform with Artist, Professional and/or Platinum.  Besides the new tools like Mix Recall and a lot of other items, the routing and optimizations are substantial.

You might want to look at SONAR Professional too...  The QuadCurve EQ is worth the upgrade price alone.  Full disclosure here that I do work for Cakewalk ;) but I could not live without the QuadCurve EQ when I mix.

You will find Windows 10 to work seamlessly as well.

The link above from Zargg71 (thanks) is the place to see all the new features.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Jimmy

The Quad Curve EQ with Zoom fly out is wonderful in PLATINUM.  Professional only has the small prochannel version.  Personally I'd find alternatives to it, if I didn't have the version with the fly out zoom so you can actually see and critically adjust it with ease.

Much more difficult to visually see how much you are changing things in the professional version.
