musica1 Found a solution to one problem I had. Next: Is there a way to delete a message that I wrote? Welcome to the CH musica1, I don't know if you can actually delete a message, but you can edit the message and remove the content. Go to the "Message Options" icon at the upper right corner of the message. It will drop down and you'll see Edit The Message. Click on that and remove or alter the offending bits. You can even change the subject. Notice that the subject isn't all upper case now. I changed it to see if it would work. It looks like it has. Good luck.

trimph1 Another FYI for you. As the OP (Original Poster?) you should be able to see two icons at the lower right corner of the message window. On the far right, " Report Abuse"--actually, this one shows up for everyone. It's for getting rid of Spammers. I haven't used it, so I don't know what the process is. But I have seen people reply to the message with something like "This message has been reported." The other icon "Mark This Message As Helpful". Is just that. A yellow bar announcing the Help shows up on the given message. You can also remove the "Helpful" message if you want. I don't know if it changes anything for the recipient and I don't think anyone takes it too seriously--this is the CH after all. Some have even "edited" that message to make it funny. I suspect that the "helpful" messages just add to Bapu's post count.

But I have seen people reply to the message with something like "This message has been reported." The Report Abuse button can only be used once on any given post - it sends your message direct to the Mods who will take a look and decide whether to delete/edit an offending post. I the case of a deliberate Spam thread, they are normally pretty good at removing the whole thread quite quickly. If you want to report Spam, click on the Report Abuse button in the first post - if someone else has already reported it, you will see a message telling you that. The consensus seems to be that it is pointless replying to a Spam post - they're not likely to read it but they might note how many replies their Spam gets - lots of replies might make them attack this site even more. And the worst thing about replying, even if you're just letting others know that you've reported it, is that it will bump the crap back to the top of the forum.
