LP EQ Automation Write Problem Please help

When I am writing the EQ, the playback is not what I wanted it to be. I wanted the EQ spectrum to be infinite meaning curved down then slowly raise. When I played it back the curve was not down, it was flat. I dont know the correct terms but please help.
