LP EQ Problems when installed on the Master Bus

Hi, I have installed the latest Sonar 2017.02 updates including LP EQ update. I installed the LP EQ on my Master Bus. When I play back (using the play button or spacebar) I find that the sound from soft synth (Omnisphere 2) doesn't start until a bar in from the beginning. If I bypass LP EQ then the soft synth starts normally at the beginning. Either way the soft synth is still in sync.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi. If you press the "Expert" button on the LP-EQ, and choose non linear, does that help?
All the best.

Good suggestion!

Also, the presets in the new LP-EQ should have two folders, Mastering and Mixing.  The Mixing presets all seem to have selected the "Non Linear" Precision by default, which is useful for VSTs and live tracking.

Unfortunately, the "default" setting when you first insert the effect is using "Medium" precision.  So follow Zargg's suggestion above, or switch to a Mixing preset.

The Mastering presets are really intended to be used with audio tracks only, not virtual instruments, due to the look ahead buffering required by the linear mode.

Thanks Ken and abacab. Yes, I should have mentioned that I was using LP EQ > Mastering > Air Lift.

I have tried instead using the Mixing section as you suggested and that seems to have done the trick. Thanks again and much appreciated.

Another trick that I did was to save (overwrite) "Default" with Expert set to "Non Linear", so I didn't have to deal with any lag when first inserting LP-EQ.
