LP-64 Multiband Linear Compressor - MAJOR clicks / problems

Is anyone else experiencing this?  when i put this plugin into a track...playback starts crackling / acting really weird.  It's not a resources issue...cpu usage is below 5%, disk usage is below 10%.  My system is a windows 7, core2 quad-core 2.3ghz system with 8Gb ram.
 
This doesnt happen with any other plugin (so far anyway) - just this compressor.  Any thoughts?  Anyone else experiencing this?
