LRS Track: Groove Player

I have had problems loading some files: Sonar locks up and requires a PC reboot.  I was advised that I can avoid this on problem files by holding down SHIFT while double-clicking the file name.  This allows me to choose one-by-one which plug-ins to load.

Every time I do this the last choice (which I decline) is "LRS Track: Groove Player."

1.  I don't know what LRS Track is.
2.  I don't know what Groove Player is.
3.  I did not put this plug-in into my file, much less into several.

Can anyone tell me what LRS is, what Groove Player is, and how this got added?  Bonus points for knowing why it is corrupting files.

Thanks.

I should know more about this,  'cause a couple of years ago I had this problem also.  If I remember correctly it has to do with the metronome.  I load new files using a template that was created without the groove player.  Holding the shift down and loading a Sonar file like you did is "Safe" mode.  Save a file after you loaded in safe mode without the dreaded Groove Player and use that file as a template.

    Others might have better advise.

Agree about deleting the offending plug-in and resaving (which I have had to do with bogus Guitar Rig instances), but I don't know what or where the LRS track is, so I can't get rid of the Groove Player.

I will be really embarrassed if LRS is some very common term I should know but don't, or have forgotten—but I don't see a track or bus anywhere called that...

GroovePlayer.dll is used to render the audio metronome.  The LRS track is most likely a hidden track used internally to host GroovePlayer so you'll have a working audio metronome.  You'll have problems with this if you have gone into your DXi folder and said "What the heck is this GroovePlayer.dll doing here?  I never use it...therefore I will delete it."

Don't delete GroovePlayer.dll...you want it.  It's probably not causing your problems...unless it's not there.

I suppose you can do without it if you are using the MIDI metronome.
