LUFS Meter V1.2.1 update | Klangfreund

I had a chance to test the full version, much better than the free version I used before.
I reported a few issues, a new update available.

Version 1.2.1

  • New: Added a threshold for the 'adjust to' functionality. This avoids big amplifications of very quiet or muted tracks.
  • New: The key file can also be entered manually. For hosts that don't allow drag and drop.
  • Improved notification to the host about parameter changes.
  • Decoupled the internal preset handling from the hosts preset handling.
  • Renamed the 'computer ID' to 'token' to reduce confusion.
  • Fixed a security flaw in the copy protection scheme.
  • Added additional code to handle the strange interaction from Final Cut Pro X.
  • Bugfixes.

This looks interesting. The idea of putting an instance on each track and setting a volume range seems like a huge time saver.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Plus it's handy for setting faders up mixes quickly.

I went the EBU R128 standard route over a year ago. This is a handy tool for that purpose although you can select any value you'd like.
I've been testing it out on tracks for mixing using sevral ways; on tracks pre-post fx & on group buses too. The results can be surprising, e.g. things I'd normally turn down in the mix need to be adjusted 2-3 db higher & I'll get an overall cleaner & better balanced mix.

When summed my mixes are -24 RMS so there's plenty of dynamics & headroom to deliver in any medium- dvd, cd, internet media/ Spotify, iTunes without the need to squash or limit that much at all.
I use simple vu's + gain staging to get them there but this can help for sure.
Another tool that some might find helpful or useful.
