This is what gets me about this whole scenario.
Texas recently let another fellow wrongfully convicted of a crime go due to the evidence derived from recent DNA tests.
Here the evidence is due to hard science.
In LA's case we are seeing basically hearsay evidence being used against him and damn the 600 lab tests that came up with nothing.

As to what, exactly, was behind the recent claims that they had the dirt on him...my surmisal would be that not only would they claim that LA was sticking into himself but that he was a dealer and made the stuff in his labs as well...

I doubt that ... today's athletes are far superior than previous ones as the training for these things has gotten so much better and more detailed. All in all, the Cycling Federation has money to burn and they decided they would ride that money until Lance was broke ... and he should have gone to court and accuse them of malicious intent ... and if there were 400 tests and no results, then a judge should have told the Federation to take a leap into the ocean! But in any court, to go over all this information and heresay ... is crazy and bizarre and it's a trial that American Justice systems have to go through to evaluate themselves and what they do. In this case it is simple abuse of power and the Supreme Court needs to put a stop to that altogether, up to and including the national government!
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

His 1999 TdF samples were retested when a method to detect EPO was established. EPO was found in six LA urine samples. A French paper published the results and LA claimed the samples had been tampered with but never sued the paper.

I think the real problem is the way our laws seem to wok better for the rich and/or powerfull. The legal system is another level of power. Armstrong gets taken to the cleaners but they still can't find any wrongdoing with the bankers that keep cheating their way to the top.
Who determines what kind of cheating is okay? Are the prosecutors also the judges?

I think EPO is what they're after. The red blood cell producer-enhancer. Lance's bout with testicular cancer was probably the red flag, since testosterone supplements have that risk associated with their use.
