Large and small condenser combo on acoustic guitar

Lately I have been fishing about acoustic guitar recording techniques and have got loads of good ideas. One other way I tried, that came to mind - wanted to take a poll on. Recently tried the combo of a large diaphram in the body position, and small (pencil) on the 12th. Like this mix pretty much ! Actually have the large even with the high point of the body just behind the bridge and aimed with pattern facing downward - and the same with the small -d. this seems to soften the blow of transients, versus having them straight on. A matter of personal taste but just wondering if others every use a large and small for tracking acoustic, or is the trend to stick with an exact pair?

    (1) mic on acoustic guitar, is always simpler, and almost always sounds better than a pair.

    too much phase difference.
i've seen so many strange combinations of mic positions to capture 'guitar' sound.....
so there really aren't any hard fast rules.

i do a very simple thing:
i use a large diagram mic, and point it at the 12th fret, from the headstock side, about 45 degrees off axis.

wearing the headphones, i move around until i find the magic 'sweetspot' of the mic...
    and then i freeze!
    LOL
