Lars Goeran H

Lars Goeran Halvarsson was a pretty good swedish slalom skier in the 80s. He just had the bad luck and timing to compete against Ingemar Stenmark (86 WC wins). Would he have been more famous if he competed in the 90s?
It's in swedish, varsågoda!

You vocals are mixed extremely well, especially the background vocals, just barely there, but there. Cool effect. I liked the middle instrumental section, some cool moving parts.

The single-note bass lines got a little heavy in my ears occasionally, are they coming at the exact same time as a kick?

You also have a very cool Soundcloud main graphic!!! Great idea that.

Feel free to post those Swedish lyrics . . . although I enjoyed the tune without knowing them, really.

    nice one!

    cheers,

Cool song, and as Tom said: the vocals sounds very good.
And I like the lyrics  (I'm from Norway so I can understand swedish)
Maybe the drums in the beginning could need some work?

Tried 3 times but the track won't play. All other SC tunes seem to be working fine.

Thanks Tom! I'm glad you liked the vocals. Actually the song were finished a month ago, but I wasn't satisfied with the vocals. I have since then tweaked from time to time and did a remix yesterday that sounded better, so there has been a struggle lol!

Yes, everytime the bass is playing it is following the kick.
Glad you liked my "guitar prison" picture! This is how I feel when I got stuck in my chord progression.

Catchy melody and nice string/synth arrangement.

But you're right. Very few remember him except in name. He doesn't even have his own article in the Swedish version of Wikipedia, despite participating in two winter Olympics not so long ago. Strange.

Really nice melody and performance Lasse. I would love to see the lyrics cos it's a genius subject matter. You are a man after my own heart. Quirk to the utmost.

Thanks Roger, glad you liked it (and appreciated the lyrics)! I'm not sure of what drum part you refering to. My thoughts were to build up the drums so maybe they are to quiet when they enter? But don't the drums always need some work?

Bummer. I can listen to it so I don't know what's wrong, sorry.

Tack så mycket Canopus, kul att du gillade den! :)

There has been so many prizes and documentaries about Stenmark since the 80s, but not a single word about Halvarsson, Fjällberg, Wallner & Co. Stig Strand has been mentioned sometimes only because he is the same age and from the same village as Stenmark, and the fact that he has been expert commentary in swedish TV for 20 years.

Thanks a lot mate! We should start a club, the Quirky Quarrymen.

Here you go, a sort of direct translation:

    Chorus:
Only a few remember Lars Goeran Halvarsson, Lars Goeran H (and there's a play with the "å" ('aw') -sound going on as well).

    Bridge 1:
    The whole Sweden were watching
When Stenmark was ready to go
    The whole Sweden were stopping
But it wasn't for Fjällberg and Strand

    Bridge 2:
He peaked at the wrong decade
    What a tough competition
If he had skied later on
    In the 90s he'd been a king!

Sorry about the strange sentences, its hard to translate word for word.
