The unwritten rule is that from user indications it plays well with XP 64 bit not sure about 32. I don't think Cake stand behind that OS anymore but I could be wrong.
It is unfortunate but a large percentage of folks only show up if there is a problem with their software, we don't hear as much from the happy people and I guess that's a good thing if they are making music instead.
FWIW I installed X1 when it came out and have never had any serious issues. A lot of others use features that I apparenly don't need or use and they have had problems with some of those features. Having said that I have used MOST of the features in X1 with no problems. Being a later adopter has some advantages in that a lot of improvements have been made to it since the release. Good Luck!!
