Terrific playing Kenny! You really got a nice mellow sound out of that Telecaster. It doesn't have that sort of metallic sound that they can sometimes have. Excellent stuff!

Hi Freddy, my # 3 Tele has medium acoustic height action w 0.12 gauge flat wounds . this is pretty much the same set up I use on my hollow body Jazz Guitars …I happened to do that to this guitar as an experiment a while back ... it seems to be working out pretty good in the tone department , so I have kept it set up this way . I'm very happy you enjoyed my guitar playing on this clip cheers , Kenny

Kenny, this is awesome, especially considering that you used BIAB. You've got me thinking about restringing my Tele, although I don't have the chops to play jazz like you do. I like the way you keep setting the bar higher and higher rather than resting on your laurels. Keep up the good work!

Hi Markno , Yes Ted was a Tele player , he sounded great when he played a Tele . When Chord Chemistry came out I had purchased a copy and wound up learning a lot from it … some of what I learned back then I still use today …. anyway, since we are talking about Ted … When I lived in the San Fernando Vally , I wound up getting plugged into one of the hippest Jazz Guitar scenes on the planet… Guitarist John Pisano was holding a weekly Tuesday Guitar Night where he featured a top tier name jazz guitarist playing with the band … I've seen some of the best players on those guitar nights ... even players like Andy Summers and Lee Ritenour would be camped out in the audience hanging out at listening to the featured players … it was a great scene , people were friendly , there was a lot of networking , positive encouragement and support . at first Guitar Night was held at a place called Roco's in B…Hills ..then it moved to a placed called Spazio's on Ventura Blvd …it moved again …I left town before it did ..I haven't kept up or been to it since I've moved out of state . any way I'm getting long winded …Ted Green was a big part of that whole scene .. Everybody Loved Ted Green and he had the deepest admiration and respect of his peers …. I regret not having met Ted when I could of …it would have been so easy for me to have met him, hung out and chatted with him …all I would of had to of done was to go see him play one of his brunch gig at Spazio's …. some times hindsight really sucks….. thanks for enjoying my little clip Kenny

your comment really got me to laugh and smile ...thank you jsaras Starise What a great way to start off my day Kenny! I hope you mess around more often.
Hello Starise , you are right , I think i need to record my messing around more often I'm very happy you enjoyed my clip. Lynn Kenny, this is awesome, especially considering that you used BIAB. You've got me thinking about restringing my Tele, although I don't have the chops to play jazz like you do. I like the way you keep setting the bar higher and higher rather than resting on your laurels. Keep up the good work!
Hello Lynn, Yes, the midi I made from BIAB wound up going into SONAR where I used The Dimension Pro for the Bass and the Organ , the drums might of been real drums… my guitar was recorded direct into SONAR. I used Mixbus for the final mix / export ... Lynn, if you happen to know how set up a guitars , then it might be worth a try to see if you like the sound and playability of your Tele set up with the heavier flat wound strings … I have always done my own guitar work , maintenance and set ups ….it's pretty easy for me to put it back if i wanted to …if I had to pay a tech to set up my guitar to do this …I would say no ... speaking honestly , I have mixed feelings about it … I was using 11's w an unwound G on my Tele for many years ... bending notes and playing with fluidity was pretty much second nature to me w that set up ... a couple of people have asked to cop a feel on my guitar and they were like what the hell imho...bumping the Tele up to 12's (flat wound ) with a wound G is somewhat of a game changer .. there is an element of having to work more for it involved … that part I'm OK with because I'm getting a sound I'm looking for .. the thing I don't like is , I like to play a lot and practice w out an amp …the flats sort of kill the acoustic tone to the point where it sounds like $hit un plugged ….the second I plug it in …it sound great … what I am trying to say is , if you want to try something new and give the flats a whirl . it might not be a bad idea to try a set in the gauge you currently use , or even one notch up …you will know if it's right for you or not ... last but not least , thank you for the kind words you have said about my playing I'm always striving to evolve as a player , this has always been my primary focus .. cheers, Kenny

+1 to everything above - nice playing. It sounds as though it may have been at least partially improvised, but even if not it comes across that way. And for jazz, that's a good thing.

Nice one Kenny. Not everyone has a band available to get the required "10,000 hours of practice that is needed to make a maestro" way of thinking. So sometimes BIAB (or other such programs) is just perfect to get those fingers and brain engaged and moving to the required tempos. Sounded great to me, there was some nice licks and fine structure amongst that.
