Latency issue.

Trying to record a guitar on a audio track. All other tracks are midi.
If my ears are not playing a trick on me, there seems to be a slight delay between the moment I strike the guitar string and the moment it appears on the recording track and the moment the sound comes out of the speakers.
A) is this normal?
B) if not, how can I resolve the problem?
This is my first time at doing this.  All my previous projects have been on midi tracks.

Regards
Thank you in advance for any information.
Much appreciated.

Latency has two sources, the audio interface buffer setting and plug-in delay compensation.

The interface adjustment is made in software supplied by the interface manufacturer for ASIO mode, the other modes use the Buffer Size slider in preferences.

To eliminate PDC bypass effects using the FX button in the mix module (keyboard shortcut E). May also want to read about the PDC button while reading the mix module help.
