Latest Update Midi Record timing is off from Metronome
I upgraded to the latest update and now when I play my midi keyboard it is in time with the metronome but when I Record the midi is recording ahead of the metronome and timing is off. I have never had something like this happen before, I have always recorded my keyboards in midi, adjusted notes and then played it back and recorded the audio. I hope this is something simple thanks in advance

Coincidently, I'm experiencing the same issue. I've had Sonar for many, many years. I rarely make any changes to my configuration. I can't remember if anything major changed in my set up recently. But here I am, pulling my hair out trying to find the root cause. Even as I record a signal live, it appears to be tracking with time. It isn't until the recording is stopped when the image is repainted on the track approx. 1/16 ahead of the place it was originally recorded. Need help badly. Already spent 1 hour trying to trouble shoot this.

Have you reported the issue ? You would get better results by posting your issue in the Problem reports forum where Cakewalk staff can see it.

I would suggest decreasing your buffer (ASIO) when recording - it may decrease the latency. I have to do that when I am regularly recording... This may be the solution until there is a solution...

You can experiment with "MIDI Timing Offset" found in Advanced Preferences/Audio/Sync and Caching. Negative values will delay the MIDI.

I work mostly in MIDI and would like to know if anyone who has updated not have this problem. If the answer is that most of us are having this problem then I will not update until it is fixed. This is a serious bug for me.
The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better. Was the "last" update which supposedly caused this a sonar update or a Windows update? Because if it was a sonar issue many people would have complained including myself but I do not see this.
You need to trace the root of the cause, so i'd try recording with another application (I'm sure you got one) and/or another MIDI interface (some of your synths that may communicate via usb MIDI or get a 20$ midi to USB cable) ... do a loop back of a midi ping and see how it aligns with different apps/interfaces
BTW I actually returned a pro label MIDI interface because it was giving too much jitter and offset under win10 and went with a cheaper one which is much steadier

For me I did not notice this until I updated Sonar to the latest release.

does rolling back to the previous version fix it?

That's a good idea PWAL. At least if you rolled back you could narrow down if it is indeed the latest update and not a driver, hardware issue.

How do you roll back a version? I was several updates behind when I updated
