Great production.  Very commercial studio sound.   You get a great mix.  Good tune, good vocals.  I like it.

Your songwriting, playing and singing are all top drawer.  If you did all that on your own, you're a genius in today's music field

That said, the production sounds a bit thin.  I know that the standard operating procedure it to apply low filtering to just about every track.  Perhaps you took it that a bit too far.  Maybe bring back the bottom of the piano track.

I took a quick stab at EQing a part of your song.  I overdid the "chocolate" on the bottom, but I think you'll get the gist of what I'm getting at. http://tinyurl.com/7ulp2qn

I liked the guitar at the beginning. The harmonies blend pretty well and fit well. In the CVCVCC into the break if it were me I would maybe either drop the last chorus or shorten it before the break.I say this mainly because the song continues to repeat the theme after the break JMHO.

These are all said in an "if it were me" statement. I understand it isn't me and there are lots of different ways to  build a song lol,so please take my comments lightly. The song was really nice!

One other"if it were me" FWIW....I would add additional instruments at the end, maybe some of that guitar you had at the beginning to round it out.

Thanks for posting.I really enjoy your music!

Sounds great from the off - very hooky ! Listening on lappy it all translates well, maybe a little lacking in lows, but like I say, lappy speakers so make of that what you will. Much as I like the hook I found it going on a bit too long at the end, could maybe use a little variation in there, just to keep it interesting.

Once again, thanks for your additional comments. I agree the lows were maybe a little bit lacking, so ive backed off the highpass filter on the piano and added a tiny tad of lower bottom end (thanks for that pointer jsaras) and i agree starise, so ive shortened the last chorus before the break and added some of the intro guitar at the end.

    http://soundcloud.com/spa...her-v2-shorter/s-1rpGf

I prefer the layout of the song now, but have no clue as to whether the mix actually sounds any better or whether i have ruined it as my monitoring environment is not the best in the world and i have now heard each version about 796 times lol so cant hear for listening anymore!

Anyhow, have two mixes/versions to choose from now so once again, thanks for your input everybody

And if anyone can tell me how to use the soundcloud flac from within sonar export without it telling me that my audio disk has run out of space, that would be cool too as a lossless version would be a nicer version to post

    Cheers

Great job man. I like what you did to the song. A real improvement IMO. The guitar and strings at the ending really add to the song.

I am on headphones here and although they are decent I probably should not comment on the bass you added. I caught the song you did on youtube. It was also phenomenal. You are quite the composer.Nice work!

I'll give you one final EQ suggestion.  The midrange is a little edgy and fatiguing.  You can use the Sonitus EQ to remedy this.  Set a band to 3K (peak/dip), Q setting of 1.3, cut about 2.2 or 3 dB.

Loved the intro. Has a British 60s feel to it (imo). "Oh she loves you" seems to be a little redundant to me. Great mix, sound and played very well.
