Latest project recorded entirely in Sonar

Hey folks,

Proud to have completed this project in Sonar, well Cakewalk Bandlab. Recorded, mixed and mastered in the good ship Cakewalk!

Was a challenging project as we only had access to a "Traps Drum Kit" at the time. This is a practice kit with no shells! Not the ideal choice and it took a hell of a lot of processing. Full drum kit next time.

Everything else was ITB using amp sims etc.

Cheers,

Mike

Quite catchy songwriting there, and the drums sounded great to me.  The guitar sounded a little off though in the beginning, like too much DI fizzle up top, but I didn't notice as the song wore on.  Vocals were great, too.

But hey, where's the bass player in the video? Did you guys make him the camera man?

thumbs friggin' up. You could do with a few more books on that bookshelf, and that stain will be hell to get out of the carpet.

Thanks for the disclaimer warning up front because the glitchy flashing made me turn the video off, but I still loved the song, and the mix of it was really pro.

cheers,
-Tom

Thanks. I agree about the guitar. We're always trying to deal with the digital amp sim fizz!
The band decided that they don't need a bass player, so I've been tasked with providing them a backing track bass and any other supporting instruments. The band are also working on a DMX light show.

I thought it was really good! Even if you did put humbuckers in a Tele. (Never fear--I've cancelled the hit-man.)

Sounds pretty freakin' good for a trap kit, no bass and amp sims.  Really good work.    Good song too, I liked it.

Hi, Mike,

Fantastic work on this really cool modern rocker!

Great song and band, and the production and mix was pure dynamite!  Pro quality all the way.  You did a killer job, especially considering the drum kit and bass situation that you had to overcome!

Great stuff, Mike, and I also thought the video was pretty cool, too!

Best wishes,
Bob

Well done, just the right combo of grit and melody...I watched the whole video and didn't see any flashing lights or whatever I was supposed to be afraid of ;)
