Latest version "laggy"?

Is it just me, or is this latest version of SPLAT "laggy"? Seems like every operation, even opening a midi file, I am getting the windows Non-Responding message, as processing the load in is taking longer?

Same is happening with the importing of audio files as well....the windows blue circle seems to be appearing for longer and far mor often.

Anyone else seeing this?

I'm having the same problem with the new update version.
Platinum takes longer to load. When I right click on the effect to go to the plugin manager, I get the plugin manager not responding. After several minutes the manager will respond. When I run the scan in the plugin manager, I get the blue circle and plugin manager not responding. This problem is frustrating because it is slowing my workflow down. I sent support an email, now I'm waiting for a response with a solution. I'll keep you posted.

Is anything running in the background?

I have found that an anti-virus program as well and Malwares' Anti-Malwarebytes will slow down Sonar to a crawl. YMMV.

The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better.

I have not disabled my anti-virus, wi-fi, or the Motu interface. I will try this tonight. Still waiting to hear from support.

Yes, hit play, 3-5 seconds later, it plays. Dropouts in projects that I did not have before.

When that happens check out what task manager shows for performance.  When I've had that occur at home it's been due to Windows Updates doing whatever it's doing in the background whether it's scanning the hard drive or what, it really pulls down the system.  However, in my case I may have a failing hard drive since the Event Log has many warnings about long delays in responding to basic disk read requests.  So even though the disk surface seems to be fine according to chkdsk, the disk controller itself could be flaking out.  FWIW, I've also seen SSDs cause delays like this on systems when they are starting to show their wear.  You can buy a little more time on them by freeing space to provide more cells to wear level with.

This is one of the most annoying things about Windows 10 (home version, in my case). Does anyone know if it's possible to configure Windows to perform these tasks when it's more convenient for you? They can really get in the way of what you're trying to do.
