Latest video from the studio - Melodic rock (Love Song in Reverse)
Hi everyone, I've just uploaded the latest video from an album I'm recording. It's for a friend of mine (Tony) and he has written all the material. He also sings and plays bass on the track. The song is entitled "Love Song in Reverse". Gtrs were played by myself and Larry Rose played drums. The brief was to have a melodic rock sound reminiscent of the bands from the 70's and 80's (Boston, Journey etc). These bands were Tony's influences and I think he's pretty much nailed it. His album should be finished in the latter part of 2014. I started off recording the track in SONAR X2 but finally finished it off in X3. The video was put together in Sony Vegas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qt367KTt4yw Hope you enjoy, Cheers, Peter.

I like it a lot. Snare might be a touch loud. Bass is shy. I think maybe remix and A/B as you go to some 80's songs. Really good playing by the band. Guitars are too soft. So it is all worth more effort.

Thanks Rimshot. I'll have another listen. This isn't the final mix so it's good to get a bit of feedback. Much appreciated, Cheers.

I really like the song and arrangement, very nice. The vocals and harmonies are really strong, as is all the playing. Nice solo! I do also think that the snare is a bit too much up-front and the bass a little shy. I would also raise the single note guitar lines at the beginning, otherwise it's nice and crunchy throughout IMO.

Lead gt at the start need to have the centre stage, at the moment its a little lost in the mix. Agreed, good snappy snare but bit too upfront. In fact the drums sound very good, everything else need to come up to them. The track is missing the bass gt. Solid playing all round. sweet harmonizing on the gt solo. ;)

Nails the style good, as you say, especially the guitars and harmonies. Drums are too present -- not too loud, but too dry and up front. Think stadium rock. I listened on headphones, so this might be wrong, but I thought the bass could come up some. I enjoyed the video.

Nice song and well mixed. I agree with the previous posters: snare just a tad too loud, and bass could be upped a bit. Great playing (& singing) all round. Also, lovely crunchy guitar sound.

Thanks everyone for watching and providing feedback. This is exactly what I wanted. It's most appreciated. Obviously it's a bit of a hassle to go and render out a new video and upload it but I am gonna save the track to Soundcloud after I've made the changes. I'll then repost and get some more feedback on the new mix. if possible. Cheers, Peter.

Cool song. I agree the bass is low an the snare a bit loud. The guitars could come up a small bit.
