Latin Jazz - Hoy Y Mañana
http://bit.ly/RQ4kKV This is a work in progress. Latin jazz legend Justo Almario - alto, David "Fingers" Haynes - drum and percussion programming, Jim Lownes - bass, Jonas Aras - piano. I've gotten to the point where I'm burned out listening to this. I'll probably add some piano comping under the saxophone solo, but I kinda like it as it is. Any and all comments, suggestions and insults are welcome! Jonas

This is a style of jazz that I dearly love, but rarely hear around these parts. No crits here, it all sounds smooth and balanced. The performances are top notch. Very well done!

Sounds Great! What a great song and some absolutely killer solos. Not much I can say. One thing I noticed is that the snare is too low compared to the toms in the drum solo. And I was wondering what it would sound like in a room about 3 times as large?

You do some great stuff. This is played nicely a recorded so well. You guys are great musicians. I think the piano comping is a good idea if you're not too burned out on the tune. Some here, some there.

Thanks for all the kind words. I just finished tracking two more songs which are more "outbound"/adventurous last night and I'll get back to mixing all this stuff in earnest. @Guitartrek: I'll definitely listen to the balance of the toms vs the snare and perhaps the reverb on the kit as well. Cheers, J
