Latin rhythms/percussion

What do you use for creating realistic latin grooves?  Is the AD2 percussion adpak good for this?

    My favourite is still the Luis Conte kits and MIDI in Kitcore. I can't recommend it however due to the Drumcore 4 fiasco. ( don't ask, I may start ranting again 😉)

    I really like that AD2 Session Percussion Adpak and also have the MIDI Percussion Beats.....compliments each other really well and very useful straight out of the box.

    Also, another goodie is Brio Percussion Ensemble from Indiginus.....very easy to get some good/quick percussion sounds. As a matter of fact, most of Tracy's products are very useful. You do need Kontakt to run these instruments.

    I have the AD and EZ Latin packs and the AD one is poor. There are a lot more rhythms for lots of different instruments in the EZ one.

     I would exclude loops. Zero-G Carnival of Drums has so many options.

    I recorded an entire Latin rock album using EZdrummer Latin pack. It had all the sounds and Midi grooves I needed. Check out clips from my website below. The album is Mis Raices

    EZ Drummer Latin Percussion, AD Session Perc and NI Cuba covers it for me. The AD Session Perc isn't really a Latin  deal but it has some useful things in it and compliments the EZD. It's more kit based; like a 2nd drummer. I think I remember NI Battery has some World perc in it and Groove Monkey has some midi that works with it.

    It's Bass, not Bass.

    EZ Latin Perc and NI Cuba also for me. But looking for more....Brio seems interesting, I already have their Renegade Guitar product.
    BTW, I'm looking for an affordable library that includes the Tamboro, the Latin handheld drum used in Merengue which is struck  on both sides.  It seems the only one I found a while back was very high $$$. I cannot even seem to locate it at the moment.

    Before or after the apocalypse?

    The say there will be a PC beta “soon”, but soon to Sonama could be some time in the next 5 years. I think it’s onto the 7th Mac beta and no word of a release.

    Is this the one you're referring to? $179 on eBay.

    Yes, TM, that was the one. I have seen there are some sample libraries for less, I think Big Fish Audio has one, with a tambora in it. Gonna pursue that one, possibly. Thanks.

    And I found this:

    http://www.bigfishaudio.com/detail.html?1;24;1::::::::::::tambora:1393

    and this:

    http://www.bigfishaudio.com/detail.html?1;24;1::::::::::::tambora:932

    More affordable than the single tambora available on ebay. Might try one of these...
