Hope you enjoy our latest original song.

The Players:
Daryl - Vocals, Drums, Keys

Ed - Acoustic Guitars, Bass

Laura Lee
(c) 2016 D. Greenway & E. Kocol

V1
There's a girl who keeps my heart in a jar
She's my world, I admire from afar
But she's unaware of my non-reciprocal stare

Ch
I'm watching that Laura Lee
I wish she would notice me
The world is lush with Laura Lee
I wish our love could be something the world could see

V2
There's a girl she's the light of my life
And one day I will make her my wife
But she wouldn't know, I can't even say 'hello'

Ch

Middle bit
One gloomy day, she looked my way
When she spoke I was too afraid to say
What was on my mind for she might be unkind and ruin my love for Laura Lee

V3
I took a chance, worked up the courage to talk
I asked her to dance, she told me to take a walk
She broke my heart, I had no chance from the start

Ch
I'm thinking of Laura Lee
I wish she had noticed me
The world is lush with Laura Lee
I wish that I could be together with Laura Lee
But it was not to be..

I like it and (as far as I know) all of the ones Daryl sings lead on.  They all remind me of something (though remembering what isn't happening - lol).

As usual, a pleasant, understated, dynamic and clean production. Nice acoustic guitar work, Ed. Is the tambourine sampled? It sounds good, so I'm assuming it is.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Pleasant indeed. I like the mix very much, cool organ pad tucked under just the right amount, glues it all together.

I liked the bgv in the chorus sections better than in the verse, the bgv's poke out a bit for me during the verse. Maybe a tasteful flanging or a dip in their volume?

However with Daryl's voice, more is more, so it's all good. Nice job to all!

    Just.....wow!
Excellent. Really nice song and performances all around. Love the vocals, really I like everything about this song.
Production is top notch, killer sound. How do you get that acoustic guitar sound?
And, I must say, I'm impressed by anyone who can write a song with the words "non-reciprocal" in it and make it work.
    Great job guys!

Bapu's been on a mixing roll and did an excellent job on this, but of course in a reciprocal way......(had to use that word just once in my life.)
