    Decent prices???

Their 50' XLR mic cable is $139.95:

The capacitance is rated at 34pf/ft while the $40 dollar cables I use are rated at 45pf/ft. The difference is a non issue in mic and other low impedance connections.

Their 24awg wires are nice but the $40 dollar cables I use are 21awg and are actually provided with impedance and attenuation specs just in case you want to figure out which is better.

Their cable uses "industry standard construction" while the $40 dollar cables I use have a 95% coverage braided copper shield.

Their cable uses XLR plugs that are plated with stuff you find on a periodic table. The $40 cables I use are made out of atomic dust too.

I am sure they make very nice cables. That part is fairly routine.

Their pricing, even at 20% off is extra ordinary.

Spending $112 on a mic cable that is "on sale" is like throwing money away.

    best regards,
    mike

Yeh, well that could be in the nanofarad range if your studio is the size of a football field! What's that gonna do to your 150MHz "air" band?

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    Agree on the mic/low impedance.
I was looking at the guitar cables.

George L's cable (what I use) is 25pf per foot and a lot less than Lava cable.

i also use george l's for guitar...

    have since about 1981.
    LOL

but i occasionally have the local audio store build me 20' mic cables to order...
they take about a half hour from order to pickup.
using Canare and Mogami cable, with Neutrik ends, usually costs me about $15-20 a cable.

    they work and sound great.

I use Gotham GAC-1 which has 2 100% coverage opposing spiral copper shields, and it has a capacitance <146 nF/km.

I use solder and Switchcraft 280 plugs and the cables basically last forever... which is to say I have never had one go bad or need service and some were, coincidentally, assembled back in 1981. :-)

    It's Kester #24-7150-8800 62/36/2.
