Layers in X1

I've taken my first crack at using layers to create a final composite take in X1 and can see the power of this approach.  The issue:  If you have a song with say 5 sections and you record three passes for each section you end up with 15 layers in a track and they start getting very small to work with to create a final comp from.  The default mode seems to have all 15 layers visible at a time.  Is there a way to zoom in on just 2 layers at a time as you build a composite take?

Not that I'm aware of but it is relatively easy to set up a full screen comping screenset, which may make life a little easier.

See this video for how mine is set up. There's also a video on that page showing how I comp. That may be useful to you.

What I would do is ctrl+drag your second bunch of 5 takes down to a new track, then ctrl+drag the 3rd batch down to yet another track. Delete these 10 from the original track, and delete their layers.

Now you've got 3 tracks with 5 takes in each.

These will be much easier to manage on-screen and when you've finished comping, you can drag the comp down to yet another "final" track. Hide your "working" tracks when you've done

This is what I do, normally you need some different automation on each one, that helps me decide what to put in each track.

I also have an Archived track next to if if there are a lot of 'bad' takes, as I eliminate each one I ctrl drag it to this track.
