Any idea what makes it "smart"?

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

    LOL. Thank You.

I thought it was a little steep priced for something I never heard of before.

    It's completely legit...there is a demo...
and, when you consider that Pro-MB is like $179,
etc...it's really not a stretch.  We've just become spoiled

This is all I could find:
"Intelligent algorithm for program dependent attack and release control"

They think they are doing us a favor by having fixed bands:
"Many multiband compressors take too much time to set up and tweak. Our Dynone was designed to have fixed bands where you are literally mixing in the compressed signal."

    Wow, min/max values:
"Dynone has min-max values for attack and release, and allows you to set different timing depending on whether the signal is transient in nature or not."

Fabfilter has a reputation for quality plugs, so we are more willing to spend that amount of money on them.
I never heard of Leapwing before. Their plug doesn't look like it is anything new or better to justify the high cost.

Perhaps the dry/wet mix control for each band is unique, if that's what it has. It is a little hard to understand the explanation.

EDIT: I'll demo it and if it knocks my socks off I'll come back here and post about it.

    Strike 1:
Upon downloading, Windows 10 freaked out and wanted to send the file to Microsoft for examination.

    Strike 2:
It forced the install into /Steinberg/vst...
It did not let me choose where to install.

A hit but no home run:
OK. It works but doesn't knock my socks off. The Parallel Compression mode mixes the original uncompressed signal back into the output. The individual band level controls now control the amount of compressed signal that is mixed with the uncompressed signal, from 0 to 100%.
The smart algorithm is actually a program-dependent attack and release mode where you can set the min and max attack and release times that the program-dependent algorithm uses.
