Leaving FireWire, need USB interface suggestions...

Well, second round of 'blue screens of death' in about 7 months...culprit was FireWire card the first time, replaced it, now having similar problems.

I want to go USBnow , and thought I could get some good reccomendations here.
$250 is my limit........I need 2 XLR inputs, and an instrument line, phantom power, and
1/4" left & right's for my monitors.

Please tell me the USB interface that you love and think I should buy!

Thanks alot everyone....

    Dear Erin,
I am using a ua25ex, which has 2 combo xlr and quarter inch inputs. The right quater inch input also has a hi-z switch. It also have a phantom power switch. It has both 1/4 and RCA outs. You can record 2 tracks at a time.

    It is great for recording.

I just got a Focusrite Saffire 6 USB, has everything you listed, and great pres for inputs. Running on Windows 7x64, no problems with anything, sounds great! Good luck!

gray , I own the same thing but it doesn't do everything required.. they wanted 2 mic pre's AND an instrument in

you can only have 2 mic's or 1 mic + instrument , not all 3 at once..

I would have mentioned the ua25ex.. but unless you unplug 1 mic.. again you can use 2 mic's or 1 mic + instrument.

My bad, I thought he meant 2 inputs that could be used as instrument or mic. I see he needs 3 now, sorry!

    thanks for the suggestions everyone....

I've been talked into sticking with Firewire and bought a Focusrite Pro 14 to replace the M-Audio 1814.

Comes in tomorrow.....hoping for better results!!!
