Left channel LOUDER at track, no effects

I have had this problem before, and because of time constraints, just adjusted levels to even it out.

I have two tracks identical in settings, volume etc. going to the same buz, the master bus.... Before it even hits the bus, one track is steadily 6 db louder than the other. I could hear it, so I checked the meters to make sure I wasnt tripping.

One meter is definitely louder visually too. I checked volumes, post and pre, busses, even inputs, deleted effects completely, checked mixing console, even checked my soundcard console EVERYWHERE.

It has to be the track somehow, because the track meters already show a difference of 6db, left being louder. I tried switching the audio clips which are within 1 db in volume if not identical, and still thesame track is louder. I tried reversing pans and put both to zero pan, the same track is louder.

Can somebodys brain give me any ideas? Its crazy. There is no effects in the chain at all, everything looks exact. I knwo what to check for volumes etc., this is really odd.

Thanx, Lance

WEll, I decided to try cloning the louder track and then I dragged the clip from the softer track to the new clone track and adjusted pan to right at 70 like the softer track.

Now they are both the same volume. It makes me think this is iether a glitch in sonar tha a track will loose 6db volumer somehow without a difference in settings sometimes, or, somwhow there is a setting on the track that I cannot see that makes it softer....

Atleast I thought of a way to solve the problem. I just hope it doesnt happen again or often.... When I have a lot of tracks layed down, I hate to be worried about if they are playing the volume I set them for, lol. I have pretty good ears, and I noticed that 6db left channel boost, and it was in a mix burried some with lots of tracks....

Hi Guys, long time !!  I'm having a similar problem w/ x1 (patched up),

so instead of starting a new thread, here goes..

Exporting out of Sonar the left channel on the exported stereo track is louder.

They are even during playback, but not on the exported file.

I've tried it w/ a different project, different exporting settings, no plugins on master bus,

    and same thing.

    Thoughts...

    Thanks,
    Tomek

I get it here and there also.

I see you did what I was going to suggest.

Route it through a buss and Pan it out evenly.

My guess is the Gain level was changed. Not near my daw so I might be calling it the wrong thing, but there is a tiny "level" control near the Pan.

PS you should have started a new thread in the X1 forum as there is 100x more support there.

OK I'm a fool, but figured it out.

Turns out the problem was the media player

I was using to play the exported tracks with.

    Cheers, Tomek
