Let me say it straight ... SONAR is...
Today's SONAR is simply awesome. It's powerful, robust, modern, easy to use, intuitive and highly customizable. A couple of years ago I was thinking about leaving the ship but now I have absolutely no reasons to do that. SONAR is now one of the best, if not the best DAW on the market for audio, MIDI and mixed audio/midi projects. I use SONAR in my professional recording studio as the only DAW. -Happy user #1-

I've gotta agree with you there. Before I finally upgraded to SPlat I was considering switching it up too, but since I decided to give SPlat a shot I have been more than happy with it and have absolutely no intentions of jumping ship anymore. I do wish however it wasn't such a heavy program to run, but hey, that's what makes it able to do what it does anyway.

When I decided to try out MIDI, I went to a local instrument repair shop to buy a sound card and some MIDI cables. I already had a synth with MIDI connections. When I was there, I took the opportunity to ask the owner if he had some appropriate program to go along with it. He said he had, and took a cyan colored box down from a shelf. This was Sept. 3 1991 and the name of the software was Cakewalk 4.0 for DOS. I bought it and have been a happy Cakewalker ever since. Have upgraded once or twice since then, though. -Happy user #11-

Good point. Others aren't better or worse, it's just that SONAR does what I need.

To me, Sonar is a tool that allows a person to express themselves sonically in an infinite variety of ways. With Sonar an individual may create for themselves a workflow that meets their specific need. Though not the end all of DAWs (of which none exist,) Sonar can bring the artist out in anyone who is willing to take the time to learn the basic functions and then if so possessed, to go a step further, across the Rubicon of creativity, that is inherent in each person. From mega star to bedroom hobbyist, Sonar is the Swiss Army Knife that can bring people alive, and cause worlds to collide. Jesse Q. Screed

Holy crap. Deja vu. I'm not sure of the date but that was almost exactly the same here with CW4 for DOS except it was at a GC in North Dallas. I confess that I have strayed. I was unfaithful. I was deceived by the promise of greener grass but I have learned the errors of my ways. Please forgive me brothers and sisters! </southern preacher>
