I'm totally in the dark with this VST3 stuff.

    What does it do?

For example ... all the free Melda VST's are VST3 compatible ... but what does it add? Does it improve sound quality, or add some other functions that aren't possible with VST2?

Because I cannot sidechain with my Waves plugins.  Other DAWs support VST3 why not CW? What's the big deal supporting VSt3? It just makes Sonar better.

Well sidechaining is a huge reason alone!

    Those Waves VST's are expensive.
