Lexington, Inserting single track is still as slow as before. FR for another OPTIMIZATION.

Inserting multiple tracks has gotton really fast as claimed in benchmark, but ironically insering a single track is still as slow as before. I wish bakers optimize it as well.

Audio track? This might be something to do with your audio drivers. Both single audio an MIDI tracks have always inserted almost instantly for me. If you're talking about inserting Instrument tracks, any delay would be more about instantiating the VSTi plugin than creating the tracks, and will depend on the synth.

Yeah, I meant a single audio track or midi track. (Not instrument track)
When the project is blank, inserting a single track is almost instant.
Please insert like 50 tracks (either audio or midi) into a blank project with no data.
Then insert a single track (either audio or midi). Inserting a single track isn't as fast as when the project was blank.
But with those 50 tracks still inserted, inserting multiple tracks at once is blazing fast.
    Thx for you input.

My base template has about 60 midi and 18 instrument tracks. I don't see a noticeable delay when inserting midi or instrument tracks. I can't comment on audio tracks. How much of a delay do you see?

I'm not seeing much of a change. The insert is detectably slower, but with a 100 tracks in the project it still takes less than 1 second to add a new one - audio or MIDI. And I'm currently on a Core 2 Duo machine.
