Life Time Updates?

I have spent a mint with all of the upgrades from Cakewalk throughout the years and with Sonar Platinum I paid for the "LifeTime Upgrades".  I have past years of boxed sets of Cakewalk Upgrades on a shelf that do nothing but take up space and remind me that  because I love to create music, I'm a sucker.  What the heck is going on?  This info about Gibson dropping product support; what about us loyal paying customers out here who even paid for Project 5 with all of it's upgrades to be left out in the cold?
This is some serious bull and we need some answers.
I am a Windows based enthusiast and have resisted Apple from jump.  Hind sight I made the wrong choice but to try to switch now would cost too much.

Yeah this happened weeks ago and if you take a cursory look through the Sonar forum (and this one) you'll find 800,000 threads expressing the same sentiment. So forgive us if we seem a little less than enthusiastic about starting another one, sorry.

I'm thinking you're the guy who always arrives just as the party is ending and asks "Where is everybody?".
