I'm going to try and change this with the types of food I eat, but there are more "no-no's" than "yea-yea's". I suppose I'm lucky this is not a chronic problem.....so yes, life is awesome....no pain no gain....LOL!!

I suppose life can be pretty reasonable/bearable for 5% of the world's population, probably less than that if you think about it.

Not much fun if you live in abject poverty.

Not much fun if the chances of you making it through childhood are less that 50/50.

Not much fun if everyday is a battle to find enough to eat and drink.

Not much fun if life-threatening disease is a constant companion.

Not much fun if the chances of having your life turned upside down by civil war or conflict are an ever-present reality, and where rape is used as a tool of war.

Not much fun as a child if one of your parents, or relatives, or your carer, or your teacher, or your priest is a paedophile.

Not much fun if you die just months after being born where the only stumbling block between you and the medicine that would have saved your life is money.

Not much fun if you're locked up without trial and the only human contact you can expect are the guys who come into your cell every day to torture you.

    Mesh, thanks for your comments.

The meds I was originally on were some variety of Colchicine - a horrible drug which had all sorts of nasty side effects.

The only thing that really works for me now when I'm having a bad one is Voltarol, which is now available here in th UK from most chemists - it used to be prescription only, but that restriction has happily been lifted.

I'm very thankful that I fell into that less than 5% bracket. Hopefully I can do my part to help the other 95%. There's plenty of bad in the world no doubt
but a little sunshine can sure go a long way. Someone else has commented that you always think you have it bad but somebody else always has it worse. We always tend to see the people we think have more instead of looking at the hordes of people who have it far worse.

A lot of people have gone through the things you have listed above and have risen above those circumstances and come out the other side winners and true heros. If the glass is half full, drink it and enjoy every drop. If the glass is empty then look for a drink because persistence pays off. If your glass is full then share it with the one who has an empty glass. If life is a test then I want to ace it no matter what.
