When you described this, it sounded like it shouldn't work, but somehow it did. It actually came out pretty good too. Very nice mix and production work too. My hat's off to you for setting a plan and knocking ot out the way you did. Good job, Ed.

You sang it better than Dylan ;-) Classic tune Seems to have a lot of energy in the mid band. And the guitar(s) seem maybe a little too HPF'ed? You did your own version nicely. I would not have been able to resist on parts like "TO CONCEAL!!??" I don't get the sounds of silence mix, but it seemed to work.

The Band19 I don't get the sounds of silence mix, but it seemed to work. Since it was "I Am A Rock" and not "Sounds of Silence" I think it works. Like A Rolling Stone I Am A Rock Everybody must get stoned* *Yes, I sang "Everyone", my bad. And I know it's not the title but I wanted to show the relationship. Thanks for listening Robby.

Cool project! It's a treat to hear someone actually singing this song. Isn't it a shame that Dylan couldn't sing?

So I didn't know that mr Bloomfield started out in the music business as a janitor? Well you learned something new every day here. All my (59) year old brain remembers was there's a story behind the organ part being compromised but Mr Bob liked it and it stayed, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Don't listen to Mooch, he doesn't understand how hard it is to sing and play bass at the same time.

Fun stuff . I find the vocals sit too far back. Bring em up and let em shine. The performance sounded pretty good to me overall. A bit lacking in bottom end here. Cheers Shad

Sorry I'm late to the party, or stoning, can't tell which way it's going at a couple points there on page 1. LOL! :) This is great! I love the mixing up of lyrics on this. Thanks for taking the time to do this just on my suggestion. I can't believe it! I really meant it when I said I thought you had a good quality to your voice and the way you did this is perfect. I don't hear anything I'd change. Mix, vocals, instrumentation are all great. Thanks! Bub

bapu ... I sang "Everyone", my bad. I did that on the very first line of In Dreams. It was one of those deals where I sang it 100 times and it turned out the first take was the best, the one with the wrong words sung.

@Phil - Thanks for the compliments. Apparently a few do not agree with you. But that's OK. I enjoyed the process and I'm happy with this version. Maybe I'll do some rework over the weekend based on some of the input (Mooch withstanding).

@Shad - Thanks for listening and I'm gald you saw it as fun. That will always be an underlying factor in my non-CHB stuff (well The CHB stuff lyrically can be "fun" too). Not sure about teh lack of bottom. My PAZ Analyzer shows a healthy dose of 60-80Hz over all other freqs. Maybe I just have the wrong low end you're looking for. Are you lacking kick, bass or something other?

@Bub - Thanks for you comments. It was only half your suggestion. I had been wanting to do this for a while. But your suggestion solidified my resolve to do it. It's one of the few songs I will get up and sing if I'm ever at a Karaoke event (and I don't need an alcohol inducer either). There's two more I do (at Karaoke events) and I may cover those someday too.

Sorry Mooch, can't do anything about the singing SAME LINK as in the OP. You can delete the song from the Internet until you get a real singer. Listening to your vox is worse than military water boarding torture. You want me to show you how to delete a song from sound cloud and how to mute a vocal track in sonar. I can show you if you want. Just trying to help my buddy.

I dunno..maybe I'm expecting something that doesn't suit the song..the original doesn't really have any dynamics either, it's full-on right through. Nice organ addition, a bit shrill though. Hard to please, ent oi? ;-)

On the verses I used a slow rotor and on the chorus I used a fast rotor. Since I prolly cain't please ya, I may called it (almost) baked . I have an idea to add some subtle schtuff here and there and some outtro schtuff too. IOW I may add some schtuff.

Hey, Ed, Very cool mashup of three vintage pop songs! Personally, I think your vocals definitely sound WAY better than Mr. Zimmerman's original ever did, and I really love the organ sections and the Variax stuff. Nice one, brother Ed! Bob
