Lines that really date a song.

I mentioned the first on the "Now Playing" thread.

The Nice, Little Arabella " Have you ever seen a bird quite like Little Arabella"
Supertramp - Asylum "I see him down the road, I ask if he'd be willing, To lend me 15p - I'm dying for a smoke"

Dr Hook - Sylvia's Mother "And the operator says "Forty cents more, for the next three minutes." No snap chat in those days kids!

Jim Croce's song Operator: "You can keep the dime."

And, keeping with the dime reference, Joan Jett: "Put another dime in the jukebox."

It might be because I don't drink and I don't go to bars but I can not for the life of me remember the last time I saw a jukebox..

    It's very cool!

A Pinball Museum.  60+- games?  Maybe more..   Really old skool

    Edit =

I read their site.  They now have 88 pinball games.  I wash there about 6 months back - I think they had closer to 60.  So now they have some new games.  I will probably go again soon :-)

    here's a few:

Charleston was once the rage, uh huh/History has turned the page, uh huh/The miniskirt's the current thing, uh huh/Teenybopper is our newborn king, uh huh

and a few that don't necessarily have dated terms, but surely date the music:

Champagne for breakfast and a Sherman in my hand
Peach top, Peach tails, never fails

Some people call me the space cowboy, yeah
Some call me the gangster of love
    Some people call me Maurice
'Cause I speak of the pompitous of love

Like gasoline you wanna pump me/And then leave me when you get your fill, yeah ... Unskinny bop bop bop bop/She just loves to play/Unskinny bop nothin' more to say

Put it in the ground/Where the flowers grow/Gold and silver shine.... Put it in your hands/Take it, take it/There's no time to cry, happy, happy

Way, way down inside/I'm gonna give you my love/I'm gonna give you every inch of my love

I was listening to the Beatles' Martha My Dear the other day and it occurred to me that the whole "silly girl" thing probably wouldn't fly today.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Yep.  Many do have jukeboxes!  However, they are usually ones that download and save any song that's requested that they don't already have.
