Link VS100 and Duo-Capture for I/O expansion?

Does anyone have any idea if it is possible to use the Duo Capture for I/O expansion in the same manner as is documented for the octa-capture? As it has the same spdif in/out and appears to be based on the same design, it would seem so...but I am unable to find any mention of this anywhere on the web....would be nice to add two more VS pres to the vs100.

    Hi,

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it is not possible. As you wrote, it is not mentioned anywhere and the possibility to link some units first appeared with the Quad-Capture.
Maybe it is possible, if not, it would be a nice feature for a firmware-update of the VS-100. Or that you can link two VS-100, just like the Zoom R16 and R24.
I think it's technical possible, but it belongs sadly once more to the support of Cakewalk/Roland, we discussed in another topic before!

P.S.: Maybe we see a firmware-update in the future. Please Cakewalk/Roland, support the VS-100 more!!!

    Is this the answer?  http://cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013188

    Enhancements in firmware version 1.50
    • The VS-100 now works together with the OCTA-CAPTURE to expand the total I/O.
    • Lower latency available - Super low latency and high stability brought by newly introduced "VS STREAMING" technology.

I can only find specific mention of Octa Capture...not the Quad. I don't really need that much I/O... just looking to make use of the 2 SPDIF inputs on the VS100 and this seemed much cheaper and possibly more stable than an ART Digital MPA 2 or something similar.

    Hi,

that's why I wrote I'm thinking it is not possible, otherwise Roland/Cakewalk has mentioned it.
But without testing, there's no clarity - or you aks Roland directly! Maybe something is also mentioned in the documentation of the Quad-Capture? Did you look there?

    Hi,

I'm nearly sure it's sadly not possible. I took a look in the documentation of the quad and the octa-capture and it's only mentioned for the octa-capture. I think if it would be possible with the quad-capture, they mentioned and promoted it.
