Linking envelopes - can it be done?

Yet another question. Some synths have dual filters (like Z3TA+), some delays have separate left/right controls (e.g. Sonitus). When I want to create an automation control for these parameters. I have to create two identical ones which can be tricky (strangely, the Sonitus "link" parameter doesn't work on automation of the MixL/MixR sliders). Moreover, when I later want to change something (when do you ever get it perfect the first time?), I have to edit both again. It would be really useful if I could link the two, like one can link clips. If that's not possible, can I copy an envelope to a different parameter on the same track? I've tried but I can only seem to copy it to a new track (presumably because the parameter is the same?). Any tricks around this?

I don't know if you can link them but you can copy a whole envelope to another automation lane. That way you can edit one and then just copy it to another lane. In order to copy it you have to select the destination automation lane  in the drop down before you paste the copied envelope.

I've tried that, it doesn't work because I'm still pasting the same parameter on the same track. It automatically pastes over itself.

Don't know if this will work, but if you start by opening a new automation lane, select the parameter you want to control, THEN paste your copied envelope?
