List of features not in Platinum but earlier versions of Sonar
Hi, I'm having a new SSD installed on my PC with a clean install of Win 7 and am wondering what features I'll need to install that are not in Platinum? I think I have DVD's back to Sonar 5. Anyone keeping a list of what is missing? Also, I'm assuming when I run CCC, it will display all the versions of Platinum thru to Foxboro? Cheers, jayson

CCC will not show the current Sonar which is Foxboro. Every update is cumulative so will contain all the improvements since release of a platinum.

I miss V-Vocal.. it had special skills :O( I seem to recall it became too unstable at some point to bother anymore though..

also it was roland tech so the ownership change may have had some influence

VVocal works fine. It was discontinued when ownership changed hands as it was a Roland product. If you have Sonar X2 back to Sonar 8 it will still work. But it is not installed like a plugin. You have to install the Sonar program. Do an advanced install and don't select any plugins just Sonar.

I always install a bare bones version of 8.5. V Vocal still works as well as it always worked and I still use it instead of Melodyne as I rarely need a tool like that and I never have the time to figure Melodyne out.

Add Lexicon Pantheon reverb. Can't remember when in was included. Probably 8.5

That's funny, but just think if CJ tried to spell Pantheon.

Guitar Rig LE hasn't been mentioned yet. It was dropped in X2. Session Drummer disappeared in X3, along with AN-879 Analyst, FX2 Tape Sim and FX Amp Sim. It's possible the last two were still shipped but not installed by default, like VC-64 was.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Thanks Bit, I think there is a comprehensive list going back to 8 in the post linked in msg #3. I stopped creating lists once it was posted.

It appears I am very wrong here. That was what I meant to write. Thank you all that corrected me. I rely on this forum for just this sort of situation.
