Little heads up : losing plugins configs in a project
Hello guys. Just a quick heads-up ... Not sure it is a bug yet because I am not yet able to reproduce it 100%, but... I'm working on an A/V project. Using WAVES C4 in the PC via the PC EFFECT CHAIN module. About 3 times during mixing, my C4's were "re-setted" to their original status in the FX chain. (thankfully, i had saved my config in independent presets last time I "lost" my configs... so this time I could restor the "current project" configs quickly...) Working on SPLAT 22.08 build 29 ... noticed a couple of other little "ghosts" but I just went "heck, must have done something wrong earlier..." Well, I had that thought about 5-7 times in my last two 2-hours sessions this week... that's a lot! Sorry I cannot be more specific at the moment. Got a deadline to meet with this project, hence this "heads-up" thread instead of a bug report one...

I have had that happen very very infrequently in the past - usually from plugin maintenance for me. I too learned the painful way then (even though only 2-3 times over multiple years), and I save off any tweaked sounds for any synths, as presets stored within a Presets folder I create within a project's folder. I myself haven't seen it happen to me for effects - though it certainly may have happened and I missed it. I would suggest you keep posting if it keeps happening, and maybe others can verify it occurring for them too, and it can get bugged up in a support ticket. Obviously, any set of repeatable steps would be immensely helpful. In the meantime, maybe try to save off presets, so that you don't lose valuable work and time. Bob Bone

Happened again. Could not identify the exact moment / cause, but the context within which the trouble always occurs is the following - Plugins are within the Pro Chanel's Effects Chain module - Plugins are WAVES C4 and WAVES VITAMIN If I remember correctly, Waves updated something during the previous month or so. I'll look it up... But so far, this trouble is looking more like something is weird with the last SPLAT update (never had that kind of trouble previously).

I did a very quick check on Google, looking to see if there were any reports of Waves C4 losing its settings, and it has had issues in the past - perhaps they have once again errantly updated something that makes it do that again. I will circle back in the morning, and do some more digging, and maybe one of us, or someone else on the forum can help figure out what is happening, and why. Bob Bone

Thanks Bob, Sometimes the simplest workflow is right under our noses, had never thought of saving presets for certain plugs and synths in the actual project folder itself.
