Living in fear

I originally had this titled "Sex for sanity"...I liked the orignal title better although it sounded too much like the Lenny Kravitz song title...

Anywho, it's coming along...and I need some fresh ears on it. I've lost it.

I've tweaked here, there, and everywhere...I hate the hi-hat during the verse (and am thinking of trashing it for a tamborine) and I despise most of the vocal; although I'm not sure if I can do better.

I did try some new techniques on it though. I used multi tracked feedback (even used v-vocal to tweak it) and recorded kids screaming to augment the "feedback solo"

check it out and throw your 2 cents in, I'm needing some direction!

Music sounds very well mixed to me and the chorus as well. I think the verses could use a little work though maybe a little more compression and something else I really can't identify (migh be some EQ but not sure). Good song

Sadly very reduced studio equipment as it is... ASUS G750J, 8 gb RAM, Win8, Roland Quad Capture.

Like that Bo Diddley guitar swing. Good song and a nice groove/drive behind it! Your vox reminds me of a few artists....

I was told on other forums that the kick and the snare need to come up. I'm not so sure about that. I did a lot of work on the level of the snare to bring it up where it needs to be higher using the automated faders, but not the kick. The snare sounds ok, but the kick is up in the air.

Agreed universally that the dynamics are a little off with the song construction. I may pull some tracks back during the verse to help that.

The vocals sound great to me. You probably feel that way because they are you. I wish I had a voice like that.

    Very strong tune.

Ron, I like this - entertaining tune. I love the vocals. I do think the rhythm guitars are a bit "muddy" - just a bit.

    Good job Ron.

I love the lead guitar over the groove in the beginning. Cool song. Backup vocals sound great. The lead vox sound a little dry in spots. I like this one. It's one of my favorites from you. (This one or "Seasons") Excellent work.
