Lizard Lick Towing

Those guys look and act like real dufusses.  But they are typical NC guys. Heaven help us.... we will never have a good reputation with shows like that on national TV.

Bobby, Bobby, Bobby... come on hurry up man..... Bobby. Bobby, look out man here they come....Dang Bobby, this dude just smashed my windshield...... Bobby, Bobby..... ? Bobby, they're getting away...Amy's gonna kill me if I lose this tow......

Yeah.... these guys are about 15 minutes up the road from here.....

I was at a social function recently when somebody asked if I had seen this show. Nope. Well what about that one with the guys who buy storage lockers? Nope. Ok, but that one with guys who fish, you've seen that one right? Nope.

The wives were all smiling at me, and the guys were shaking their heads and naming all these reality shows I've never watched.

I just don't see the entertainment value I guess. Heck, I've only watched half of one American Idol show the entire time that show has been on.

Well.... for some entertainment that doesn't require much mental activity.... LL towing is right on target.

And I got to admit one thing here..... they are pretty slick some times.

They just went to a car show on a tip that a small sports car was up for repo. So they find it and start talking to the owner...chatting him up. They ask the owner where the vin is on the old cars...... he shows them.... they call AMY at the office to check the vin... it matches.  So Bobby bets Ronnie he can't fit in the car. (small sports car) He asks the boy if he can set in the car and get a picture. The boy says yes. Ronnie jumps in.... Bobby closes the door, and moves to the front to take a picture.... but the hood is up and in the way so he closes it. The owner asks, do you want to hear the car run?   And puts the key in it and starts it up. Ronnie drives off.  Of course there was more drama...... but that was sweet....

Time to consider bed.... sleep..... been up working hard all day since before sunrise.... I don't like getting up before the sun.... it should be illegal.

The alternative is what I did yesterday.  I worked from morning until 4:30am then slept until 7:30am, had breakfast, delivered what I had produced during the night (business cards, stickers, bin labels and bag labels I had designed and printed for an auto body supply shop), then came home and took another three-hour "nap."  I don't have a clue what the term "normal working hours" means any more...

I don't think I'd recognize Bobby unless he crawled out of the LL truck.  Ronnie is kind of distinctive looking...especially with his new hair style.

They always seem to get the car, or truck they are after in spite of the circumstances that seem to conspire against them.

I don't know who knows this..... but Ronnie & Amy have an English Bulldog named "REPO" ..... the dog has been on the show a few times, even dognapped by an irrate guy who had his car repo'd.

Anyway, REPO died a few days back..... tangled with a snake, and ended up on the wrong end of the snake.  My wife saw it on facebook last week.

I've never seen this show.  I don't watch a lot of TV, but I do sometimes.  I have seen Storage Wars a few times when I'm up at night and can't sleep.  I've seen a couple of episodes of Duck Dynasty when I was home sick for a few days.

Duck Dynasty was UNBELIEVABLE.  I would put DD and TTL in the same category (tho I've never seen TTL, I believe it's very much the same kind of show as DD).  Storage Wars is not really in the same league.

I haven't seen the show. I usually go to youtube when I watch TV and watch the kind of stuff that never made the  TV ratings. It is amazing what you can find with the right search words.

I watched it once and don't wanna offend those that
may like it....but it's a stupid show and nothing entertaining
about it to me.

Now I did see some show about towing and they latched on
to a car that had a midget asleep inside....now that was funny
sh!t...that little man got pissed...and I'm sorry...they are really funny
when they're mad.
I didn't think that would happen again so I moved on.

Ilove Duck Dynasty. It is a clean show with some good people and it is entertaining. I don't know how anyone could not like Si. I glad it has been renewed. They had another show about deer hunting in the past but I don't think I have seen it. The Robertsons are a real American success story.
My daughter is half owner in a sporting goods store and they have had dealings with Jr. and Willie from Swamp People. They say that Troy is a multi millionaire. He owns a huge crawfish operation, of course you'd never know it from watching the show. I've enjoyed it but lately it crossed my mind... how many times can you watch some guys pull in an alligator and "choot em"? Gator Boys is a little more interesting, IMO but most of these shows ride on the personalities and the "situations" created by the producers.

If you think LLT is bad (I don't) then try watching Operation Repo.. those people make the LLTing folks look absolutely cosmopolitan.

I tried watching American Gypsies and it literally gave me bad dreams...

It is only a couple of weeks until the next season of JUSTIFIED starts. That is a good show.

Well...

First, have to say that I don't even have a TV, and watch one maybe a couple times a year.  I have no interest in reality shows of any sort.

What is of interest is that reality shows have very little cost to produce, so the revenue from adverti$ing is almost pure profit.  But, does the growth in "reality" TV say something about what is happening in terms of creativity in the culture?

We use movies to express our creativity.  For example, we've got various Batman movies, the new Spiderman movie goes back to the beginning of the story.  There's a Superman movie coming next year.  Total Recal is coming out soon.

Nothing says creative like doing something that's already been done before.

My wife loves Duck Dynasty...after I saw it a few times....well, you just gotta respect a bunch of guys who make duck calls for a living, have long beards, love to go hunting, love to goof off, who use dynamite to get rid of old duck blinds, and you don't have to bleep every other word out of their mouths. And they always close the show setting down at the dinner table together thanking God for what they have and what he provides for them from the swamp.

I had a hard time figuring out how they became wealthy making duck calls until....... I just happened to look at an outdoors type catalog recently where they sold hunting supplies and lo and behold..... duck calls.

Those duck calls were not the DD variety but they were selling for an average of $135 each.  Why I remember as a kid, I could buy a duck call for $5 at the ammo store. Yeah, it was a long time ago when I was a kid.... but $135 for a duck call?  Maybe that would be the reason they have all those cool toys.
