Several things to try Have you scanned your vst folder? Have you created a plug in list using the plug in manager? If you have the you'll need to add BFD2 from the list once you have run the vst scanner Did the BFD2 installer ask you where to install the VST? It should see sonars vst folder and install it there automatically but you might want to check to make sure it's there. If it's not it will be in programfiles/fxpansion/bfd2, you can copy and paste it into cakewalks vst folder and rescan. Hope one of those work Steve

That's very odd I have two folders, one in (C:\Program Files\FXpansion\BFD2) And the other in (C:\Program Files (x86)\FXpansion\BFD2) You must surely have one of these? Something must be very wrong if not. The BFD2 installer installs both 32bit and 64bit versions. Did you find the 32 bit .dll in (C:\Program Files (x86)\FXpansion\BFD2) or in cakewalks vst folder. Do you have both versions of sonar installed? I mean 32 bit and 64 bit? If so you will have two vst folders. Steve

Steve, when BFD was loaded onto my new machine only the 32 bit version was installed, hence my confusion over at Fxpansion. Which BFD installer are you referring to?

I'm pretty sure it would have been the first 64 bit update. I remember seeing two short cuts placed on my desk top, one for 32 bit and another for 64 bit. It looks like that update, "which I think was version 2-3-0-15" has been taken down but installing the proceeding updates didn't remove my versions and I have the very latest one. Jonesy Have you checked both your windows 7 program folders and looked in cakewalks vst folders? Since you're now on windows 7 you have two as I've stated above. This is odd and I would suggest you might both need to contact tech support or (and) post on the forum too. I've seen another post from someone on the forum with what might have been the same problem but he was using logic and might have been on a mac so might be a different issue, or at least different resolution. Yes mate, done that. In Sonar 32 it shows the vsti for BFD2 (32 bit) In Sonar 64 I don't get any BFD entries and that's after rescanning.

64 bit is still only in beta, is it not? You can get it, but you'd have to go to their website and dig it up.

If you go to programs from the, "start" button and go to Fxpansion/BFD2 do you see just the 32 bit app/icon? If so then that seems wrong to me as I see both when I do it. Steve Update I just reran the most recent update (BFD2_2-3-0-38) and it asks me where I want to install the 32 bit vst and then where I want to install the 32 bit program, and then does the same for the 64 bit version. Surely yours must have asked the same? Try running the "BFD2_2-3-0-38" installer again and seeing if it asks you the same. I can't see why it wouldn't ?

John T The most current version "BFD2_2-3-0-38" says it's still in beta so I'll not dispute that But it's been 64 bit since "BFD2 v2.3.0.15" so the 64bit part is out of beta I'd say. Steve

How stable are you finding it? I've been putting off installing it, but I might do it this weekend.

Call me a crazy fool or an intrepid pioneer John but I've installed all their betas to date with no problems what so ever. It definitely loaded kits faster and probably a reduction in ram but my machine is a beast so I rarely monitor these things now I never had any problems with 32 bit either, other than bit bridge crashing when I closed a project I may have been trusting to luck at times though. Cool. On the last couple of projects, BFD has been the only remaining 32 bit plug in. I'm quite curious to see what a bit-bridge free life is like.

So, Steve, do you reckon it's safe just to apply 2-3-0-38 right on top of 2-0-1?

Isn't the install thing with BFD that you have to do the 2.2 update as it makes some changes to the sample data? I don't think you have to do any others in the chain though.

Hi Jonesey I would run the 2.2.2.3 update first and then 2.3.08. The audio update is only for the metronome (what metronome I hear you say?) I didn't know it had one but I installed it in one of my update frenzies Steve

Are you using Vista64? If so, then the install of BFD2 will have to be done manually as it pertains to it's 64 bit version.

Hey GT Just wondering what you mean by, "manually" how does one go about this. I've seen quite a few people having problems with the 64 bit update of both Eco and BFD2 on vista and wondering if it can be done for both? How do you go about manually installing the 64bit version? Steve
