Loading presets
Well I seem to be completely inept when it comes to using Sonar. I have platinum which is far and above more features than I need (but I got it at a really good price!). These programs are so complicated and I often find myself completely frustrated. The manuals and tutorials often do not seem to cover even the basic set up information. I really don't know how one is supposed to work their way through the program without a personal instructor (can you tell I'm frustrated?). For most computer issues I'm pretty good but not here. I tried to load a sonitus reverb bus to my recording. There are no presets in the dropdown menu other than "default". I see the tab that says "presets" but have not been able to figure out how to load them into the drop down menu. You can't seem to select them all and even one at a time, I get dialog boxes that I don't know how to fill in. Any help would be appreciated. This seems like such a basic instruction that would be included. I have The cakewalk power book but It doesn't seem to be of help for this either. Probably just me. As I said, I seem to be inept. Sometimes I wonder if I should "downgrade" to a simpler program. I tend to do mostly multi track vocals with piano. Thanks Michael Thanks

I sympathize with your situation. Sonar is a pretty full featured program and a new user can easily get overwhelmed. So I don't know exactly what you mean when you said "I tried to load a sonitus reverb bus to my recording". Are you having trouble adding a bus or do you have a bus and you loaded the Sonitus reverb into the FX bin and not you want to try out presets of the Sonitus reverb? If it is the later I found this short tutorial on using it, including presets. https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013064/Sonitus-fxreverb If you do this and can't see the presets then something might not be installed correctly.

I added the bus. Selected sonitus reverb. When I used to select the drop down menu on the left (It says "No Preset" in Zargg's photo.) It used to have all the presets there to choose from plus some I'd done myself. After re installing sonar on the new computer they are not there. I don't expect the presets I had made to be there but where are the others? I do see them in the drop down menu that says preset but I'm sure they used to be in the left drop down menu. Clear as mud I know

The Sonitus presets (along with all the DX plug-ins) automatically load into the standard header preset menu too.

Mine did actually not do that (as it normally does) on my laptop now, Steve. That's why I included the picture I did. Thought something had changed without me knowing. All the best.

Okay Scook, That's my problem. Nothing is there except "default reverb". How do I get them to show up there?

This is exactly my problem. Mine are no longer there.

In the meantime, use the menu in post 2.

Rollback and re-install the main SONAR Platinum installer.

That's how mine looks too. Why do some people (like the graphic you posted) seem to have them all listed?

Mine has always looked the way Scook showed in his picture until today. I would as he recommends, do a rollback (in CCC. Right click on SONAR, and choose roolback to previous version as an example). Once done, update to the newest version.
