What's next, mandated peaceful football matches?

"Seriously, what has football (soccer) got to do with this?"

It was my impression form 696 was intended to identify assemblies of revelers whose activities may escalate into boisterous and uncivil behavior.

    re:

"We take account of where the event is playing, what other events might be playing nearby, the type of music that's being played, and whether there have been problems before. We've had quite a few of what I consider 'higher risk events', where there may be some problems - so we recommend additional searching processes and additional security to help manage the event safely."

I was just making a off hand remark... don't take me seriously :-)

I think Mike was passing comment on the UK's seemingly imminent capitulation to the whims of the brain police - it seems these buggers are everywhere - slowly, inexorably, stealthily but steadily removing freedom of choice, self-expression as well as the ability, or rather the neccesity, of letting off steam (at said football matches)
